Jail
« on: September 23, 2012, 04:22:03 AM »
I've been thinking, if a player got banned and his/her ban is lifted. We could put them in jail for some more time.
To prevent them for getting banned again.

1-hour | 30 min jailtime
1-day | 12 hour jailtime
1-week | 84 hours jailtime
1-month | 420 hours jailtime.

The jailtime would started, on next join.

You're insane if you think someone will sit in jail for 420 hours. That's over 2 weeks LOL. So you'd be banned for 1.5 months? I don't think so

I don't think so, the idea of a timed ban is to deal out the appropriate amount of punishment, so why would we do so further? Jail is often used to temporarily detain users, for example, if they are bugged/glitched in some way and need to be put out the way, Jail is not often used as a punishment because it allows them to still chat to others, and often continue what they were doing, if the problem is harassment related.

I'm here to help.. With the following exception:

@EventHandler(priority = EventPriority.LOW)
public void onPlayerJoin(PlayerJoinEvent event) {
    Player player = event.getPlayer();
    if (player.getName().equals("SGT_ADZ") {
        player.kickPlayer("Yeah... Nah!");
        return;
    }
}

Jail is considered less of a punishment than a kick, but it can still get the point across. It is there for convenience where we don't actually have to moderate outside of putting a user in jail. And yes, it is not used that often.

It's not used that much due to the prisoner constantly complaining that they are in jail. Muting them in jail doesn't really help the staff since we still hear them.

Why? Why would we need this? That would just get them more annoyed!
