Zander, I don't know what side you're on. You can't just swap sides so easily, also, your point on " making the community bigger" doesn't seem to have any backing whatsoever.

an idea that just occured to me was to have three main seperate chat channels. If the issue on profanity is so diversely objective, then why not?

1. All - The standard chat. Moderate swearing allowed, nothing serious.
2. Mature - All types of swearing and profanity allowed. If a player repeatedly uses it to insult / harass another player, however, then they will be punished.
3. Youth - No swearing, clean chat. Swearing is a reportable offense in this chat.

If you're afraid of that, then you better stay away from the internet completely.
Pretty harsh there, Skye. You need to keep those thoughts to yourself and speak in terms of young children. Perhaps you weren't raised the way most kids were?

I hate swearing, but I put up with it. I'd rather block it out completely, ESPECIALLY when young children are present. That language is not good at all... it's used in more negative contexts than good ones. Don't attempt to make us more like you in this regard...

Sorry Alpha, I'm going to have to disagree with you here. Kids these days are going to exposed to language eventually, and no one can prevent them from learning those words.  Personally, I love swearing, it's funny and a great way to relieve stress. Also, your point of " Don't attempt to make us more like you in this regard..." - are you not doing the same exact thing by enforcing a strict profanity filter?

I would think that egg means that the younger players wouldn't be able to access this forum, or the server if a parent disproved of what he/she saw.

That's just overprotective parenting. I vote no for a filter.

There's only 2-3 days left in the ban, this will teach you not to let him near the pc.

Banned for 30 days for griefing chucknorris's lot. Had many clues and too much evidence pointing to him as the culprit.

He's got friends on the server, he'll know. This is nothing compared to imf's old 500 day bans.

I'll shorten it a lot if he actually appeals, but he honestly did not seem like the kind of person to even care about this ban enough to go to this site.

Banned for 100 days for refusing to listen to authority while consistently griefing, client hacking, spamming, and harassing / insulting. If you appeal it may be shortened a bit.

Overall, bad idea. You can't just clear the board mid-game.
