It used to be that you could TinyWE coal ore and pick up its coal, but that was disabled a couple versions ago. Subsequently, coal must be tediously mined manually.
Please post here whether you would prefer that it be changed back or kept the same as it is now.
I have a slight preference that coal ore be TinyWE-able, but I don't think it's a big deal if it stays the same since coal is easy to buy in shops.
-
Coal, iron and redstone world edit away since there so cheep
Ggl, lapis and diamond don't?
-
There is some debate over WE mining ores, as well as filling inventory. First we allow it but the community wants it changed, so we change it, now you want it back. I doubt we'll be seeing a fix for this any time soon unless you all agree.
-
Im comfused. I thought we did want it (at least for coal).

agreed.

I have no preference about the inventory filling since I'm already pretty careful about how I use TinyWE.
I prefer that gold be mineable with TinyWE.
I strongly prefer that iron be mineable with TinyWE.
I prefer that coal be mineable with TinyWE, and I've never actually seen anyone suggest that it should not be.
I'm fine with diamond and redstone ore not being mineable with TinyWE.
Perhaps Ryan can set up a poll so we can get some actual voting? :-)
-
Added a poll, please vote!
-
I believe they should be required to be mined by hand, I believe it keeps them from becoming too common like cobblestone. And it requires the player to actually use their tools.
But here's another suggestion if it is allowed to be TinyWE'd again: Put a Quota on all of the ores.
-
I find the possibility of taking away features that I paid for, by donating to the server, highly unfair. Taking away the feature to tinyWE ores means tinyWE is pretty much useless as a way to mine.
-
bump please vote because this poll may impact the final decision of the developers :-)
thanks for adding the poll, Hretsam!

I agree with this. The quota should be (as it has been in the past) scaled to the relative rarities of the ores, and I would include a quota for redstone and coal.

As far as it being "unfair", you must realize that TinyWE was never meant to be used as a mining tool, but as a tool to aid you in construction. Being able to mine with it was a perk/side effect....

Mining was still a massive selling point for buying the upgrade.

this would diminish the values for ores being sold in sign shops like redstone ore. i think it should stay the way it is
-
You're kind of late on the post STG. TinyWE is back to the way it use to be. All ore can be mined.
-
Last time I checked, not all ore can be mined. I noticed that coal and diamond blocks disappear but aren't picked up.
-
guys you should allow to get ores from tinywe cause there's not other way + just think what people could make out of all these ores there could be like a... really BIG ORE HOUSE/ CASTLE imagine h w many views we could get on the website for that picture or video
-
Hretsam let me know that, in an upcoming IDP version (hopefully the next one), TinyWE of Iron, Gold, and Coal ores will be allowed. I think this is a reasonable compromise. :-)
-
Well, ores are now Rare items.
I have some coal ore, and i want to keep it rare,
-
The ore's themselves are rare because they took single player features away from us.
-
Sorry, I didn't mean that we'd be able to pick up the Coal ore, just Coal.
