Title: Staff relief idea/suggestion.
Post by: bmanwoody on February 19, 2012, 07:11:57 PM: Okay so I was talking to Alpha and I suggested and idea to him which he liked for staff, talk to Alpha any other staff to find out about it as it isn't for users. This lead to my other idea of some sort of list in which users such as myself would comment or post on things/stuff in general that they need an admin and/or moderator to do. this wouldn't include small things like witnessing an animal killing in order to sell it or relocate a spawn point, but something like I would like my lot moved or something cut and pasted to another lot, that then allows the admins time to breath and the server chat to be clearer instead of abusing staff members and harassing them. you would post on the forum with more than 2 major things that needed doing not for pointless things. so you would lay it out such as

What needs doing: I need part of my 4th lot moving down by 8 blocks, that part is marked with a ring or dirt. I would then like my castle on my 2nd lot highlighted with sandstone to be moved to my 4th, the position is highlighted with sandstone again.

Priority: either high/medium/low. high= within 1 day medium- within 2 days low= within 3 days or more. these are only rough ideas

This way everyone's stuff gets done and no one is left out and arguments cant break out over pointless stuff. remember guys this would benefit everyone, not only will staff be less pressured and be on more, you as a user will get heard and your stuff will get done.

Also if your not on the server your stuff might get done while your away so its a nice surprise for when you come on.

So yeah comment on your opinions and see what you think, i really think it will benefit both sides.

Post by: Vector on February 19, 2012, 10:10:31 PM: I like the idea of this. It prevents the hassle of having to be on with someone addressing an issue that they have, and need help with. As an admin, I sometimes get so overwhelmed with requests, that I feel like I want to get off the server for a bit.

This would reduce the amount of stress that people have from requests.

I like the idea of this, but for some things it can be quite tricky to explain exactly what you need with just text on a forum. Also, I feel like many people would make their requests high priority just to get their stuff done faster. Perhaps a list of common tasks can be put up so people don't decide the priority of some tasks themselves? For example Filling an area with water would be a low priority task by default.

Yes very true, maybe the admin dealing with it could post there name and set priority themselves? what do you think?

Yeah, I wouldn't mind the admins/mods deciding the urgency of the request at all, In fact I'd trust them more than the person making the request with deciding this.
