Post by: SGT_ADZ on December 30, 2011, 03:08:18 PM
Is it possible to have a minetrack to run through all of innectis and link all of the areas together?

Correction, Nortan unofficialy layed some minecart tracks in the street, and there was no major design, if it was to be created it would need to:

It would require care and consideration from its makers..

I quite like this idea. If you're going to make a track though, I propose we make an official Aethertrack first :D Nosliw, is it possible to IDP-protect a collection of blocks rather than an entire axis?

There's sort of an unofficial Aether Track atm, though it's design could use some improvements still.

I know of it; it runs underneath my second lot :P Perhaps we could, with owner's co-operation, link up the track to more lots?

WhiteRaven22 was the first to create the main track, but people have been adding onto it anyways, I personally don't really care as long as the track stays functional.

At this current moment, lots protecting along the Y axis are not available, however they are in planning. It is however possible to protect blocks, one at a time, although some of the community would be happy to do this, I am not sure the admins would find it a valid use of their time..

It would take a lot of collaboration and work, especially to make it look good. A one-wide strip of something running all throughout the world, hovering above the ground, is just plain UGLY. Make it look realistic, then MAYBE. Even so, until it can be easily protected, I'd vote no.

I will gladly allow a section of my 3rd lot to be the beginning of the track near spawn. Just let me clear the section with the ice and we can start it there.

The aether track I started is a project I have deserted since StarScythe's aether lot got moved.  Anyone who wants to modify the track is welcome to.  My aether lot is probably going to become public land soon, which is another reason I don't maintain the aether track anymore.

A major problem with this is preventing grief. It may be protected within city limits, but in the wild its at the mercy of VIPs. To add a lot for every straight section of the track is just too much...
