Title: Nether Resource zone..?
Post by: DaftPunk03 on June 01, 2013, 01:00:35 AM
So, I've been thinking, since the hype for quartz came to Innectis, as well as the general hunt for nether fortresses and glowstone - it has become much rather a waste land of cobble and dirt towers everywhere. And I've brought this topic up several times with admins but never on an official level. And I think there should be a Nether Resource zone perhaps? However not regenerated as much as Resource zone is - making it too easy, but maybe (If nether lots are to be enabled) have it in a separate world to either Nether lots or the current nether world. So leave comments on what you think - whether it be negative or constructive on this idea. It's just that I believe that the nether has gotten rather...uglier than it needs to be - I mean, it's already rather hellish, it's just looking rather ridiculous now.

The idea of a nether which regenerates is a good idea. I voted YES :)

I really don't care how my domain looks. The part of the nether I use, people don't dare touch.

Don't dare or just haven't found?

This has been mentioned before and my answer is still no.

Why do you not want this though?

Although I like this idea, the simple fact is that people are just too lazy to actually walk out into untouched areas. Run out 1,000 blocks or so in any direction and there are tons of resources.

Nether Forts aren't that important to find now that you can smelt netherbrick. Having blaze and wither skellies is all it really has going on for them. Quartz and easily reached glowstone are reasons to regen the nether every so often. But I don't think its needed to regen it too often. You already get the luxury of not having to make a portal to enter the Nether. So far only regening the Nether during major Minecraft updates has seemed to work quite well. No need to change that pattern. Just go and EXPLORE.

Maybe Regen the nether once every 90 days?

We can do something like that yes. Also, I don't think we need the 300 blocks away from spawn to use TinyWE limit anymore. It can be slimmed down to like 50 blocks away. Due to a regenerating world, the original reason for the restriction can be scaled back a lot.

Back to the topic, I suppose the reason against this is because I don't like nether materials becoming more common. Things like glowstone and such.
