Title: ULTRA HARDCORE FLAG
Post by: chrisjones23 on May 06, 2013, 05:51:20 PM
ok this idea is mainly aimed at Event lots and arenas

the flag would do the following

Based on the Mindcrack UHC rules

an example can be found here http://www.reddit.com/r/mindcrack/comments/1bjmi7/uhc_season_9_episode_1/ (http://www.reddit.com/r/mindcrack/comments/1bjmi7/uhc_season_9_episode_1/)

i think maybe there should be an ultra hardcore warning when entering a UH lot to make it fair also a 30 second countdown and global announcement of activation to be fair?

If this was ever going to happen I would say that only Moderator + can set this flag otherwise lots of users will set this onto there lots just to kill other players.

So we should make pvp mod + right cos people might use that to kill each other too hey maybe we should do that with swords too just to be safe. And while were at it lets round of the corners of all the blocks somebody might hurt themselves while exploring...

I don't see any problems providing it has the same warnings and countdown timers as PVP

Edit: I take back what I said about kind of agreeing that the idea was not real good for players. The idea is pretty cool, but I think it should have different criteria than a PvP flag, such as you can tp away or something, to make it slightly more balanced.

Anyways, as I've added it to redmine, we only really need to figure out how it's going to work exactly, and whether or not your description of it will be used in its final implementation.

Addition to suggestion; UHC flag removes IDP benefits such as TinyWE, Backpack, etc.

Item drop should be 100% on death, just to put a little more of a vanilla aspect on it.

Rather than a flag, perhaps there could be an Ultra Hardcode Game mode? Similar to other IDP games like Domination or Fortress, that way we could impose all sorts of rules with no issues :)

I think it should be useable by all who want too. Can you do that through gamemodes?

I could make it this way after testing, but I think Hret/Alpha are against it. The issues with flags is that if people drop all items and do not regain health there, it would either require a separate inventory OR have a 30 second warning before the rules take effect on a player.

i think a 30 second warning is more than fair :P if you have a warning and 30 seconds to clear out of there its your own stupid fault

I feel it should have a separate inventory, the same as there is a separate inventory for lots/areas with "creative inv". This would remove the need for that warning entirely.
