Just wondering if this is even possible. Is there a way for people on the forums to talk to the people on the server. Like Along the line where 'Home' and 'Word Map' are and stuff. add another one 'Server Chat' or something so if I clicked on that I could see what people were saying on the server and I could talk to them.
If that makes any sense or is even possible that is my suggestion.

this idea is genius....
except players would probably start spamming (not pointing fingers ;) )
-
It's possible, but I don't think it will be added because it would be much easier to spam.

Upgrade D.A.V.E possibly?
-
This would be pointless due to banned players could spam chat and also perm banned
-
@Zander which is why you IP Ban them from that Page.
-
Personally I don't see the use of this, it would only encourage more spam, and all it really does is saving you the trouble of logging onto the server.

This has been discussed before.. It would be difficult to manage for one, you would need to have players create a login, and verify it in-game. And then have bans/mutes/kicks carry over.. Also, you won't know who is watching you as they wont appear in who's online, so we would need to add some kind of login.. Also you would just get someone constantly on the page, recording everything said.
As for upgrading Dave (not D.A.V.E), that would be complex to do, the things that can be done with him are limited, he needs to run fast, otherwise he will slow down the server.. Also, IP banning someone from the chat page would be pointless, you can renew your IP address.

There are ways to almost ensure a computer can never connect to a page. Motherboard/CPU IDs for example.

MAC ban is hard. You'd think someone who knew how to code would know how technology works.

MAC is much easier to change than the CPU/Motherboard/HDD IDs, for those routers that have the capability of spoofing it.

Oh, so as a child, you knew how to change your MAC address? I doubt anyone on this server knows how. Anyone getting perm banned, anyway.

The lag that would create!

Oh yeah :-\
-
Depending on what you use to create it, depends on how much information about someone you can get..
-
Nice that you guys are talking about Hardware ID's and MAC addresses.
Those things that we cannot access remotely...
-
Well, if we used our own router/gateway that we could control, we could block MAC addresses on that. :P
-
internal MAC addresses... yeah that would be helpfull.
We could block the other servers in the data center..

Oh noes, I must have forgotten that it cannot be seen from a unique host outside of a LAN and instead it represents the path of the last hop before the network the packet enters. Some of my knowledge from the CCNA courses must have been lost, or that I interpreted the totality of a MAC addresses purpose wrong.
