Title: Banners/Archived Section
Post by: hungrybobby1 on January 30, 2013, 09:57:25 PM
instead of having mods reply to a ban appeal/report. there should be next to a banner that says:

Accepted <Green>

Pending: Ban/Appeal <Yellow>

Rejected <Red>

and i think the locked/dealt with bans/reports should be put into a Archived Section.

I don't see the issue with our current system? Staff get the information and after the issue has been dealt with, the thread is abandoned (or occasionally, if people keep on talking, dropped). The only flaw I see with this is that other people are able to see your thread, although sometimes this is useful and provides more insight; it often results in flame/hate posts. It is possible to have it so that you can only see your own threads, and that staff can see all of them, but then you can lose valuable information.

However I don't see the use of adding in accepted/pending/rejected messages, it seems like a waste of time searching or playing around with SMF to add it in where it has no real use.

I agree on the banners but I believe that the ARchived section should exist. It helps people navigate easier to bans and learn from them. I think the ban's page should be limited to 1 page, not 6 or 7 like currently. Its easier to navigate and makes everything less cluttered.

I don't see the point in adding an entirely new section just for dealt with bans, it does no harm to just keep them where they are..

I prefer the traditional YES or NO. Also banners don't explain our reasoning for not accepting or approving an appeal. We'd still have to state that, so the banner would just be repetition and a bit redundant.
