Title: An AFK command
Post by: aiden cool6 on January 06, 2013, 09:53:43 PM
The one thing that really gets on my nerves in this server is how there isn't an /afk command it makes it so hard to tell whether a person is active or not. For instance no offence alphablend but I can recall times when Alpha was working on the idp or doing something else and i had NO idea. So i'd sit at my computer trying to talk to him but of course i got no answer. However if there was a /afk command this problem would be put to rest but it's not only me who wants this command in fact lots of people do so please admins think about this I'm sure the server will benefit from it greatly.

if you want this command write it down so we have a better chance at getting it!

It's not really useful. If a person is afk they most likely won't respond.
And if they don't, well you have your answer, either they are ignoring you or are afk.

This has been suggested so many times before, and so many times before has it been shot down.

If you want people to be aware that you are going away for a moment, simply tell them.. If you know you are going away for a while, then log out.. A command is not needed here!

And how will this make people know they are AFK
usually when a server has a /afk command and u type it comes up in the chat box saying '(player) is now afk.'

We aren't like "usual" servers, we are unique, I suggested something like this a while back, but when typing /afk, you would have NoDamage set on you and it would teleport you to /warp afk2. Whenever the players name is mentioned in the chat, the player who typed his name could get a message sayin, "[IDP] That Player is AFK!"

Just use the /me command and write; /me is afk

Just use the /me command and write; /me is afk

That works so well until you log onto the server and said person is AFK, and you didn't see their message.

That works so well until you log onto the server and said person is AFK, and you didn't see their message.
Then hopefully someone is kind enough to let them know. and the /afk command doesn't help that case either.

Then I shall move my box next to my xp farm, to benefit both players and I.
(Is that correct grammar?)

To benefit both the players and I. That's what I'd say.
