That's a first. Funny how you're just as surprised as I am.

What a ridiculous amount of time...

X-Ray is a serious offence on the server. I think two weeks in an appropriate first offence ban time for using it.

The ban system around here makes no sense at all. It's hardly based on judgement, it's just how long we can keep people off. I think it's time we make an actual time frame system, and not let people use their "better judgement".

THIS

Perhaps have a set ban time per offence, then multiply the ban time by the number of bans?

I can name a few instances where a set time ban wouldn't work.

Take griefing for example, breaking one or two blocks is not as bad as destroying an entire lot. It's the same offence but should it really have a set ban time. Seems a bit unfair if a person gets banned 2 days for breaking 2 blocks and another person getting the same ban time for wrecking an entire lot.

How does the system actually catch someone?

Well, its only been in since we updated to 1.4.6, so not many. I think its only came up 3 times, and 1 of them was x-ray, so that's a 33% success rate :)

How does the system actually catch someone?
That would be telling! ;)

If I had to guess, I'd say the system detects how said player mines, do they branch up/down "randomly" and find diamonds? Or do they mine in a line?

Skye, how is this ban time "ridiculous"? X-Ray is a serious offence, and deserves a lengthy ban... I had to ask if it was a 15 day ban because I wasn't sure myself. The staff online at the time made a group decision, simple. Next time, don't criticize other staff on their decisions. Just wondering, how long would you ban someone for if they were using X-Ray? o_o. If you think this ban time is too lenient, maybe the bans you give out are too lenient?

I think she was referencing to how some bans like greifing have shorter ban times.
