I suggested this feature very long ago. Im reposting it :)
Idea Name : Piston Crushers
Idea Description :   Pistons with a sign on  ( As shown in this mod ) Pistonextended (http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/fun-mech-pistonsextended-v1-4-0-add-extra-functionality-to-pistons-1000.25129/#post-452809) can crush the blocks set on the sign.

What is the point of this...? I can't imagine how it'd be useful at all. Why not use a dispenser

You could go afk at an infinite sand machine e.g. and then come back and have a full inv
