Title: Smelting Update?
Post by: SGT_ADZ on May 14, 2012, 11:58:00 PM
I was hoping whether we could have it so stuff smelts while your are either not online or in other places in innectis because it's a pain having to stand around waiting for stuff to smelt...I know the members of Renascimur would like this :)

What are you talking about?
You don't have to be near the furnace for it to smelt.

I'm pretty sure the chunk has to be loaded or the smelting pauses itself. I could be wrong though.

Yes, this is a vanilla problem as you have to be near the chunk for it to render. Without your there to render the chunk, its just not rendered and the furnaces dont do anything. Not really an easy way to fix this.

Ah. I've never had this problem. My lot is beside spawn. :D

This would cause server lag, having all those chunks loaded. Find a more popular area to smelt.

Like skye said, smelt on one of your lot area lots because there are more people there. (This is mainly for vip and up)

I don't think there's a simple way to detect chunks loading/unloading. If there was, we still wouldn't do it. :P

Still, I don't like this idea because of that.

And merc, it's not a problem, it's more of a convenience on computer memory.

I would suggest getting a lot close to the spawn, cause those chunks never unload.
