As some of you might know, Mojang gave a demonstration of all the new content of Minecraft 1.11. There were some interesting additions but overall this set the tone that Minecraft 1.11 will follow. Well a new 1.11 snapshot came out today, so i decided to set up a snapshot server that everyone can connect to, to see everything that is going to be in 1.11 (yes, Mojang considered this feature-complete, so what you're seeing is pretty much what 1.11 is going to be about.)
It's not typical that we do this, host a snapshot server alongside the live version. However, I felt that I could provide something special to all of you by doing this.
You can connect to the snapshot server at game.innectis.net:25566 and make sure you are using the 16w40a snapshot. Read below for some information on how to get snapshots (this is the recommended method).
To get snapshots, open your launcher and press the “New Profile” button. Call it “snapshots” and check the box saying “Enable experimental development snapshots” and save. To switch to the normal version, you can select it in the dropdown at the bottom left corner of the launcher. Back up your world first or run the game on in a different folder (See the “new profile” dialog).
Snapshots can corrupt your world, please backup and/or run them in a different folder from your main worlds.
