With the upcoming release of Minecraft 1.3, we are going to phase out the chest shop system, to make way for the official shop system.
The chest shops saw at least 4 months of use, and they were received very well. However, I felt as if they were making items available too easily, what with players setting prices themselves. I strive to put forth an aspect of survival, even in the shop system.
This means that it becomes more of a challenge to get items from the shop, than it previously used to be. If anyone has a problem with that, then please, say so here. However, I feel that the way the new system will work will benefit everyone.
Here's the main reason why: another way to gain vT. You will be able to sell to the shop, and gain vT for your blocks. If they are listed in the shop, then you will be given enough vT to the selling price of that item (not the same as buying). If, however, that item is not in the shop, you will still get compensation depending on the block you're selling, and how much per a certain amount of that item.
Those of you who have a shop, now is the time to think about taking everything out, and putting it back in your chests on your main lot, or something.
We plan on having one more update, which fixes a little bug, and then the next update after that, the shops will be removed from the code.
