Hello everyone!,

I wanted to make a quick update for everybody, to let you know what's been going on.

Firstly the server and forums.
Recently we've updated the server and due to getting a good deal, we've decided to separate the MC server and the forums from each other. That means that the MC-server and the forums won't be running on the same host. Main reason for this is that if we need to shutdown the MC-server for any reason (updating, maintenance) the forums will still be reachable.

Now this is mostly not a big deal and if your use the link 'innectis.net' or 'mc.innectis.net' in Minecraft to connect you won't notice a thing there. For the forums both 'innectis.net' as 'forums.innectis.net' would keep on working.

However, there is one downside. We've lost our wildcard entry, so not all subdomains will work anymore (previously if it ended with '.innectis.net', like 'hretsam.innectis.net' it would have worked). Not really a big deal, but it is something you should be aware of. Note, if it still works for you, the DNS server you use might not have been updated yet.

Secondly, during this update we also got more RAM memory. As we had a few occasions that we reached the limit. It should be better now, but we're working on it to get more out of it).


Next thing is the IDP development.
As you'll know, I havn't been working on it much. Alpha that was keeping it updated, but due to a hardware malfunction he can't work on it for the time being.
As for me and Lynxy, we are both busy with other things. Note that I will be returning to the development in 1-2 weeks, depending on how fast I can sort the other stuff out, I should be on time for the 1.3 Minecraft update.

Now, I'm looking into getting an extra developer for the IDP. But it's not a decision I want to make overnight.


Furthermore I want congratulate the new Mods: Eggnaug, Skyeheart & StarScythe7! Good luck to you all! Even though Alpha broke our tradition here, it's good to add you to the staff!


As least I want to make a remark. Its been over a year now that we switched over to 'Innectis', so congratulations to us for still being alive today!
It's been over a year that we said:
"We will not go quietly into the night!"
"We will not vanish without a fight!"
"We're going to live on!"
"We're going to survive!"
"The 14th of May, we celebrate our Independence day!"

As hret and Lynxy were busy, I did most of the work for the past few IDP versions. Now I got a problem as my desktop died, and I need to buy new parts.

However, I'm not going to repair it anymore, but instead get a brand new computer (I am actually going to build one as I got a wishlist in newegg and already bought a 1TB SATA harddrive yesterday). Once this happens, I will be back in business with Innectis and IDP development.

I already fixed one thing for IDP 5.4.8 before my desktop died, and was almost done with extending another feature (for the moderators).

Hret, you have done a very superb job with Innectis. You've been so much more successful than many other people on their servers, and for that, I give you kudos. Otakucraft, our former community, came back and died 3 times since we became Innectis.

I am VERY proud of what you've done for us. I'm going to increase your karma by one after this post, too.

I would love to be part of IDP, however the main problem in that I don't know how to program.

On a sort of related note, my parents are paying for a programming class in a week. Be interesting to see what I learn from that.

Well, to explain further.

When connecting to the server, your connecting to a computer elsewhere.
Currently the forum and the Minecraft server are both on the same computer.

Now we got a new computer for the forum, so that one will no longer be on this one.

We will post more information when we update to Minecraft 1.3.1.

There are some huge changes that are going to take place when we do so, on top of adding another dev. Likewise, we will inform you when the update happens.
