Website Contributions and Support / Redesign
« on: February 09, 2011, 01:09:04 PM »
I think that everyone would enjoy coming to this site if it has a more unique, exciting theme, or template.  I noticed that I like to look at other sites because the current one seems dull and uninteresting to me.  I believe that this may be the same for many other present, or current visitors.  A new theme and/or redesigning the site may help attract users to this site.  I'll be happy to relearn Gimp and post some of my ideas for a new theme if this is a option the Administrator(s) is willing to consider.  I wouldn't be going out of my way as I'll have to relearn Gimp by this summer anyway.

General Discussion / Free Cloud for 6 months!
« on: February 09, 2011, 10:17:35 AM »
I just know a little bit about cloud servers at the moment, but I thought that this was too good of a deal for me to pass up and I figured I'd share it with all of you.  I barely know anything about cloud servers, so I need to do some research before I debate on signing up for it.  As you may already know, NETHOSTING is currently providing six months of services of their cloud server for six months for beta testers.  I don't know how long this offer will last for, but they do ask for your name, number and E-mail, so I'm sure that they are selecting the best people that they can to try them out.  I could not find out what the requirements for this are, nor could I find a ToS specifically towards this service, so I have to presume that the regular ToS of their web hosting services apply.  To all those that are interested, good luck!

Introductions / Beansofham
« on: January 28, 2011, 03:33:08 AM »
Hello, my name is Josh, or you may call me Beans if you prefer.  I too have had various names.  Some of them are Beansofham[CBK] (was a member of the original CBK), MeatyBuffer, BlueEye and some others I can not remember at the moment.

My interests too include computer programming and like graphic design, one of my interests are web design (even though I absolutely hate image editing programs), exercise and reading.

I have some basic knowledge of PHP, and very little of MySQL.  Right now I'm concentrating on Java.  I am good with HTML 4 and CSS though.  I also have some experience with it in SkillsUSA (competed and got to State in high school) and have basic knowledge of JavaScript.  My favorite editor for coding is Notepad++.  It is not a IDE, but it is a helpful text editor which will highlight your code to make it easier to read.  You can also customize your styles (the color, or backgrounds of how your code appear) or you can create your own layout entirely.

I think you are a interesting person.

Thank you for keeping our channel clean of trash. http://codespeak.org/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Also, I think your goal to publish a Web site is a great idea!

Suggestions / Signature
« on: January 28, 2011, 02:54:29 AM »
I believe that a signature created specifically for this community would be a great help in attracting users from other sites to this site.  I'm a member of http://www.dreamincode.net/, which is a community for graphic design, web design and some web programming and high level programming languages.  On another nickname though.  DreamInCode uses optional signatures to help members of the site to identify more experienced users (stars) or to differentiate members from admins, or moderators as well.  Which I thought was a creative way of using signatures.  They also punish those whom falsely use it.  Anyway, I would not mind uploading the signature on my account and sharing it with other users, or any other Web site for that matter to help make this site known in hopes that it may improve in both members and size, because I see great potential with this community.  I'm confident that others would share a positive view on this as well.

Modified I corrected my own grammar and recreated some sentences.
