This is going to be stealthbot completely re-done.
It will be coded in C# with Eric as the project leader.
It will also make use of DLL add-ons that will be loaded dynamically. The amount of power that could be provided by the DLL's will be very large.
I think they will also re-do the scripting system.
What are your opinions on this new bot?
What are some DLL ideas?
What are some other things you want to see?
~Edit. Frozen is no longer project leader. -Hale

Don't get your hopes up...Don't expect this for at least a year...Most likely 2 or 3.
-
I didn't think it would be fast. It is a very large project.
Though I am going to start making a league in .DLL form after I finish HDL, because JPT and I are working on a C# bot with similar features.
-
I think it will take as long as v2.7 has.
-
No, MUCH longer then eleventy years.
-
But how is that possible
Only Chuck Norris > Eleventy years!
Unless you plan to the whole stealthbot project!
-
Lmao yeah, A league DLL would be pretty nice.
-
eleventy thousand years
-
eleventy Billion? years o.o

no, eleventy QUINTILLION years. Thats ELEVENTY TIMES 1,000,000,000,000,000 for those of you who didn't know.

More discussion, and less jokes :S
I think that the dev team have really failed when it comes to keeping up with dates. StealthBot may be an ok bot (2.6r3), but the beta has gone under major renditions (command-wise). The Command Process0r has been re-built, as well as the queue. Problem is, the development team needs to put the community first, and release the darn thing, as a new version has not been released in over 4 years.
Stealth just doesn't have the time he used to have anymore. The very reason that he created a dev team is reason enough that he is just too busy to maintain it on his own.
Honestly, I feel I would make a neat addition to the development team. I don't have to worry about the connection, and with VectorNet as my biggest project, I'm already confortable with adding features to it.
That notwithstanding, the bug list is not as much as it used to.
I'm really talking about 2.7, which leads me to 3.0:
The ability to load/unload modules within StealthBot will be crucial to those who report high memory usage via StealthBot.
the /efp command, which requests high level CPU priority, will be much more effective if non-crucial modules related to flood control are disabled. Its going to seem a lot like PyBot (ability to add/remove modules, I think). We can only wait for 3.0 to come out.
I cannot wait for 2.7 to come out, as it will be AWESOMENESS!

^This.
I wouldn't put a time limit on it, because Stealth will have "I'll have the new release out by this weekend" up for like 2 years again. -- I actually thought the release was coming that weekend...It didn't.

Well, I think its because of certain devs don't want to ever release it. They just want it for themselves.
-
I gave up on stealthbot years ago. Honestly, i do not think it is going to even be released in september. If anything it will be released in 2013 (after the supposed "end of the world" in 2012)

There are bugs. Rest assured, there are far fewer bugs than earlier, with over 2 pages of topics in the DR 14 forum when compared to only 2 topics in the DR 28 forum.

About that scripting system...... I heard it was going to be only partially implemented in 2.7, and fully taken out in favor of something else in 3.0.
-
The Scripting system is already partially placed into the executable in 2.7. Only the most dynamic code (code that is bound to be updated frequently) is placed outside in a separate plugin.
What Eric wants to do upsets me. He basically wants to replace the plugin system with an older system (scripts are instead loaded from a folder, and not managed by the plugin system currently)
I, in a way, do respect the current plugin system in a way; just, there are bugs with it too.

It does everything the plugin system did -- only it's built in. It's not an older system -- it's actually just the plugin system made to be internal.
-
Which is a better choice for them because that means no one can edit it.
I find it a down side though, because ihave edited the plugin systm to MY liking.

fuck stealthbot, MIRAGE BOT FTW
Wait -- isn't this a Stealthbot forum? Do you want me to bring up all the reasons why Stealthbot is better than Mirage? Your post is uncalled for, and I can surely beat down anything you say is better in Mirage than Steathbot.
-
^^
hehe, yah SB is better then mirage but i just like the interface and shit about MB soooo yah gonna use it until 2.7 comes
-
like the interface
The interface hasn't changed in 2.7.
-
Will never change until maybe 3.0.......

And even then its an IFFF
